Thanksgiving in the Pryor household was indeed very special. We were blessed to have Mom and Dad visit with us. Our pre-thanksgiving service was wonderful. Mom is an awesome organist and piano player; we enjoyed hearing her play and sing. Dad is an inspiring speaker. We were blessed to be able to sit and listen to various life-changing instances that commenced in Dad's lifetime.
Mom and Dad also surprised Mark and I with a new table! There is something warm and cozy about a kitchen table. The table is a place were families indulge in enjoyable recollections of past events, talk about future dreams, or simply share life experiences. I know our special table will be cherished for years to come!
Last but not least, we were all able to share Mark's 40th birthday together. This remarkable event was fun. We were honored by the best church in all of the world! We feasted on spaghetti loaded with Sabrina's infamous sauce, homemade meatballs, and Sis. Cochrane's homemade yeast rolls.
And, as I sit hear typing, my son just walked through the door with his first "spiked" haircut! Yikes, I am just a little shocked, but I'll have to say the haircut looks cute. Oh, the joys of being a parent. As long as Grandma thinks Sheldon's haircut is cute, I guess it will suffice.
I'll end my thankfulness with this one thought: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Th. 5:18)<

Life's Joy, Friendships
This weekend we were blessed to spend time with our friends, the Allard family. Brian's elegant messages, the greatest love story and the greatest gift you can give your family is forgiveness, were inspirational. Jana and Bryce are amazingly blessed with a God-given talent, singing. It is always a joy to hear Jana and Bryce sing. To cap it all off, Bryne and Blake sang!
Most importantly, it is always refreshing to spend time with friends. We were simply able to chat while the kids went ice skating. With the help of Bryce, Sheldon learned how to ice skate! Bryne and Blake are natural ice skaters. It was fun watching the kids ice stake. I am thankful for the simple occurrences of life as they make indelible memories!
Last but not least, fourteen guests visited our church! The Lord's unseen hand is definitely at work. I am reminded of the scripture that says, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it . . .." Psa. 127.1 Our labor is not in vain! I truly believe the Lord is honoring every endeavor we make as we witness to people that we meet a daily basis. If we continue to witness, the Lord will continue to draw people to the church.
In conclusion, here is a scripture to meditate upon: The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (Psa. 28.7)

Burning Desire
I was pondering on the subject of quitting. Here is what I found. When you choose to quit, you "leave, vacate, exit, depart from, withdraw from; abandon, desert." It is boldly declaring that you have grown weary of your current position, therefore, you'll just quit.
Do you ever stop to consider the affects of quitting? You might say, well, someone better will fulfill that position. What will it matter if I abandon those around me? What will it matter if I cease to teach that particular class? No one will miss me if I leave. However, there is more to it than just your outlook. Quitting stems from a deep-rooted, unfilled desire. You quit, not because you truly believe someone better will come along, you quit because you have withdrawn from your lifeline.
You might ask, what is a lifeline? Well, it is what keeps your life centered. If I chose to, I could QUIT playing the piano, but I won't even consider giving up because I have an unrelenting, burning desire to give my all for the furtherance of God's kingdom. Learning a new instrument is challenging, but fulfilling. Sure, I experience weariness, but the Bible does say, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." I choose to move forward!
