Please keep Mark in prayer. At 3:00 p.m. today, he will undergo surgery. We will post an update after the surgery is concluded. Thankfully, he is relatively calm, but I am nervous. So, please pray.

Now for the update. Mark is doing exceptionally well. We are home and he is enjoying a Just Peachy Jamba Juice. His surgery went rather quickly. His nurse Nana told us that the surgery could take anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours! Thankfully, the surgery lasted all of 30 minutes, and there were no gallstones to remove. Nana, even led us in prayer before the surgery. I was thankful for this because if I tried to pray, I would have cried and I was trying to be very brave, and this was no easy feat! I am thankful that we are home.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. We sincerely love all of you. Signing of with many thank you's, hugs and kisses.

Action Speaks Louder Than Words

"As I grow older I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do. " (Andrew Carnegie) This quote leads to my next thought, one's actions will always speak louder than words. This is a timeless proverb that has great meaning. Three words that one never tires of hearing are I love you. I know my husband loves me not just because he tells me but more so by his actions. You need words and actions to affirm what you really mean to communicate. For you see, actions really do speak louder than words.

What are your actions speaking to God? What are your actions speaking to your family or friends. Do you simply say something, but than in a matter of days or weeks, you simply fall back into your own pattern of apathy. Do you say I love you, but never do anything to show your love for God or for your family. Words of affirmation can never be given enough, but remember, "People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do." (Lewis Cass)

Trudy is Doing Remarkably Well

We want to thank God for Trudy's wonderful recovery. She is just amazingly strong and her faith in God is even stronger.

Last weekend when we went to see her, she was all smiles. She was telling us about her boxing exercises. Her therapist was having her perform some upper cuts and jabs here and there. He even encouraged her to try to hit him in the chin. At first, her bashful, kind nature would not allow her to do this. However, by the time her therapy session was over, she had connected with his chin and everyone was laughing. She said that people stopped to watch what they were doing because they were having so much fun.

Even in this trying time, she is still able to have fun and laugh. A few of her exercises are challenging, but she continues to gain new strength in her leg. She is determined to regain her mobility in record timing. We absolutely adore Trudy. She has a way of lighting up the room and making everyone smile.

She is not old, but I like this German Proverb, “The oldest trees often bear the sweetest fruit.” She definitely has a sweetness about her that is inviting and encouraging. God bless Trudy!

Philana - You Are Thoughtful

Philana, thank you for being so thoughtful. You have done so much for us that we can never thank you enough. We appreciate your faithfulness to God and your willingness to go the "extra mile." I am amazed at what God is doing in your life and Anthony's. He is one adorable little kid! I'll always laugh when I think of how he can divide five dollars. Okay, I'll share the story.

Philana and the boys went out to lunch and she gave them $5.00 to spend on games. The only condition she placed on this was that the boys had to divide it between the two of them. Sheldon said, "I know how to divide" but Anthony's division trumped all. He just tore the $5.00 bill in half -- such child-like innocence.

Now back to my post. We simply want you to know that we appreciate all that you do.

Thanking God For Comfort Food And For The Hands That Prepared It--Marcella Roseberry

You never quite consider your health until you are so sick that you can barely get out of bed and you wonder if this horrendous condition will ever abate. That my friend is what I have experienced for the last four days. Usually, if I feel "run down," I know it is a warning signal to get some rest. Thus, I can usually rest for a day and by the next morning or sometimes evening, I feel much better. Not so this time. I rested and I thought I had escaped whatever it is that is going around, but then it struck and the Pryor household was filled with resounding coughs and sneezes. In a nutshell, we were REALLY sick!

What do you want when you are sick? Comfort food or better known as chicken noodle soup. Yep, that was what I was desiring. Now for the happy ending. Friday evening an angel by the name of Marcella called. She had made some chicken soup and wondered if we would like some. Here it was raining outside, but she wanted to bring us some soup. I should have taken a picture of her. When I opened the door, she had on a raincoat and was wet, but with a smile on her face she gave me the best soup! My heart flipped flopped and tears came to my eyes because that very day I had mentioned to Mark that I wanted some homemade chicken noodle soup. I believe this was a miracle to remind me that God is watching over us.

Marcella, thank you, thank you! Your soup was absolutely delicious! Thank you for taking time out to be a blessing to our family. You are just too sweet.
