Determination

My focus of my blog is simply just to write. Every now and then, I like to share a personal story, and that's exactly what I am about to do. Last week, I was given a new song to learn how to play. After coming home and trying to practice the song, I just could not put it together. My first thought was, well I'll have to go to my lesson and explain to my teacher that I cannot play the song. Instead of getting frustrated, I went on to play the song I learned last week. Finally, on Saturday evening, I decided to sit down and make one more attempt at the song. Thankfully, in just a matter of minutes I learned the chords, remembered the melody, and played the song! Do you want to know the secret to my success? Determination.

This brings me to my next thought. It takes determination to accomplish anything in life. If you lose your determination, you become lethargic and lose your focus. You begin to go through the motions of everyday life. Instead of having passion, you compromise and settle for the mundane. Life is too precious to merely settle. You must strive to do great things otherwise, you will never experience the sweet victory of success!

Prayer Is Still The Answer

A certain conference preacher had a dream.  In the dream, he was in heaven.  The Lord was showing him his mansion.  Words could not describe the spectacular beauty of his mansion. He was speechless.  Interestingly enough, right next his mansion, there was a mansion that was even bigger.  The preacher  turned to the Lord and asked, "Whose mansion is this?"  He wasn't envious or jealous, he simply wanted to know who lived in the mansion.  Was it king David, Apostle Paul, Abraham?  Who?  The Lord reminded him of a lady who prayed the entire time he preached.  The preacher didn't know what she prayed, but it went something like this:  Lord I cant' preach words of wisdom.  I'm not an eloquent speaker.  I can't travel to faraway places.  I may be of little value, but I promises that I will pray for this preacher.

The story concludes that this wonderful lady's dedicated, faithful prayers brought the anointing upon the preacher's ministry.  Awesome!  We must remember that prayer is powerful.  We have a direct line to our Heavenly Father, and we need to utilize it daily and not just when it is convenient.  We must make a commitment to pray, because I sincerely believe the Lord is just waiting to speak to us.

The other day as I was praying, I received an answer to a perplexing situation. I was thrilled because once again, I was reminded that the Lord hears our prayers, and He chooses to answer them at moments when we don't even expect an answer.  Make a commitment to prayer, and your life will be greatly blessed!

Life's Rewarding Friendships

I love those moments in life when you receive an unexpected phone call or e-mail from a childhood friend. You immediately ponder on those carefree, childhood days. The memories from your shared friendship come to the forefront of your mind, and you cannot help but to smile. Thanks, Tiffany, for the e-mail. I am thankful for your friendship.

When I was a child, Tiffany's family always made sure I had a ride to church. There were many Sunday afternoons that I went home with them! It was awesome to be around a wonderful family. More importantly, they prayed for me. My life has been enriched by this family.

The next time you think your small acts of love are not significant, remember that you may be impacting the life of someone. It doesn't take much, it is the simple, insignificant deeds that matter most.

Happy New Year

Amazingly, another year has past. I am thankful for everything the Lord has done for us. Last year, definitely was a time of great change. God's unseen hand was gingerly molding our lives and getting us ready for greater blessings. It was a season of unconditionally trusting God. I can honestly say that if you can trust God even when the dark, dismal clouds are hindering the golden ray of sunshine, you will be a conqueror, an overcomer, one who posses great faith because you know God is in control of your life's destiny!

Hebrews 11:6 states, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."

GOD is magnificent; He can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to His greatness. (MSG Psa. 145:3)

Happy New Year! "Dare to dream. Dare to reach. Dare to believe. Dare to inspire." (Mark Pryor) Let 2006 be the year of greatness where awesome miracles happen because of your unwavering FAITH!
